UNITED WOMEN SACCO MOBILE BANKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
- By downloading, installing, or using the Mobile Banking Application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, including any updates or modifications made hereafter. Please review them carefully before using and/or acceptance.
ELIGIBILITY
- You must be a registered member of United Women Sacco and have an active membership account to access and use the Mobile Banking Service. You must also be at least 18 years old or have the legal capacity to form a binding contract.
DEFINITIONS
- “Mobile banking” shall mean the platform provided by United Women Sacco to offer services related to United Women Sacco and its partners. These services may be offered via SMS, USSD, or mobile applications on various devices, including any upgrades made from time to time, and any other software or documentation that enables the use of Mobile Banking.
DATA PROTECTION
- United Women Sacco is a certified Data Controller by the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner. Any personal information you provide when using Mobile Banking will be processed and used in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
INFORMATION SECURITY PROCEDURE
- You are responsible for all instructions issued by you or by anyone acting with your authority from the moment you complete the security procedure until you log out of the Mobile Banking Service. This includes any errors in input or instructions submitted by another person. Therefore, you should not leave your mobile device unattended while you are still logged in to the Mobile Banking Service.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, including your User ID and PIN. You must keep your security details confidential and take all reasonable precautions to prevent their unauthorized or fraudulent use.
- You must not disclose your security details to any other person or record them in any manner that may result in them becoming known to another person.
- You agree to notify United Women Sacco immediately of any unauthorized use or suspected breach of security. You agree to accept full responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Please note that, after initial registration, we will never contact you (nor authorize anyone to contact you on our behalf) to request your full security details. If you receive any such request from anyone, even if they use our name or logo and appear legitimate, it is likely fraudulent. You must not disclose your security details under any circumstances and should report any such requests to us immediately.
- If you report a transaction carried out using your security details as unauthorized, we will investigate the matter to determine liability. You may not be held responsible for the transaction if the investigation confirms that you kept your security details secret, did not act fraudulently, exercised reasonable care, and complied with these terms.

Therefore, you should not leave your mobile device unattended while you are still logged in to the Mobile Banking Service.
- You are responsible for making sure information either shown or stored on your mobile phone, is kept secure. You must advise us of any change to your mobile phone number or email address.
PROPRIETARY RIGHTS AND LICENSE
- All trademarks, copyright, database rights and other intellectual property rights of any nature in Mobile Banking, together with the underlying software code, are owned either directly by United Women Sacco or by its designated licensors.
CONDITIONS OF USE
You will not, nor allow third parties on your behalf to:
- Make and distribute copies of the Mobile Banking Application
- Attempt to copy, reproduce, alter, modify, reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile, transfer, exchange or translate the Mobile Banking Application
- Create derivative works of the Mobile Banking Application of any kind whatsoever.
- Mobile Banking is currently provided to you free of charge for your personal, non-commercial use except for any transaction fees that may apply while using the service. United Women Sacco reserves the right to amend or withdraw the Mobile Banking service, or to introduce charges for its use, at any time and for any reason, in accordance with these terms.
- You acknowledge that the terms of your agreement with your mobile network provider (“Mobile Provider”) will continue to apply when using the Mobile Banking applications. As a result, your Mobile Provider may charge you for network access or any other third-party services incurred while accessing Mobile Banking. You accept full responsibility for any such charges.
- If you are not the bill payer for the mobile phone or handheld device used to access Mobile Banking, it will be assumed that you have obtained the bill payer’s permission to use the service.
AVAILABILITY
- This Application is available to handheld mobile devices running Apple IOS and Android operating systems. United Women Sacco will use reasonable efforts to ensure the Mobile Banking services are available at all times. However, you acknowledge Mobile Banking is provided over the mobile devices and mobile networks and its the quality and availability may be affected by factors beyond United Women Sacco’s reasonable control.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
- To use Mobile Banking, you are required to have a compatible mobile telephone or handheld device, mobile access, and the necessary minimum specifications (‘Software Requirements’).
- The Mobile Banking software may be upgraded from time to time to support new features and services.
TERMINATION
- United Women Sacco may terminate your use of Mobile Banking at any time by providing notice of termination. Upon any termination, (a) the rights and licenses granted to you herein shall immediately end; (b) you must cease all use of the Software
TERMINATION
- In no event will United Women Sacco be liable for any direct, indirect, special, punitive, exemplary or consequential losses or damages of whatsoever kind arising out of your use or access to Mobile Banking.
- United Women Sacco is not liable to you for any damage or alteration to your equipment, including but not limited to computer equipment, handheld device or mobile telephones as a result of the installation or use of the Mobile Banking Application.
DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
- United Women Sacco hereby disclaims all implied warranties regarding its Mobile Banking. The Mobile Banking platforms are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR LOAN APPLICATION ON MOBILE BANKING
- All the information required must be provided for an application to be processed. The applicant must ensure the information provided is true to the best of his/her knowledge and belief.
- All loans should be repaid within the specified period failure to which the Sacco will take the appropriate measures in the recovery process at its disposal and all costs of recovery will be transferred to the member.
- The minimum savings to qualify for a loan shall be as determined by the Sacco. The amount shall not include the share capital. Members with loans will be required to save a percentage amount based on the total loans outstanding.
- All loans shall attract a monthly insurance premium which will be determined by the prevailing Insurance rate.
- United Women Sacco reserves the right to obtain any information from the applicant that it may deem necessary for purposes of loan processing.
- The borrower hereby consents/authorizes to the Society to seek information from a Credit Reference Bureau or any other regulatory body prior to processing the loan application
- The borrower hereby gives consent to the Sacco to share any relevant information obtained pertaining to the borrower and / or his/her guarantors as may be required by law, credit agencies or credit reference bureaus.
- The borrower undertakes to comply with all legal and financial requirements relating to valuation of the collateral and securities perfection.
- All loans applied through the Mobile Banking Application shall be deemed to have been applied in full authority of the applicant and he/she accepts all the above the terms and conditions for loan application.
